A mind map is a graphical way to represent ideas and concepts. It is a visual thinking tool that helps structuring information, helping you to better analyze, comprehend, synthesize, recall and generate new ideas.

Mind Map Interpretation:
Here the mind map which based on the objectives of this project. There are 8 elements which related with the subject “Online Art Platform”, which are possible form, aim/use, language, tools, color, interface, data flow and produce time/budget. Besides, within the possible form, it lists three ideas: 3D Art gallery, multimedia website, and Art Bulletin Board System. Similarly, it also lists the possible tools, possible language and possible colors.

Moreover, the mind map can be divided into three part, and each part represents different steps of this project, besides, they need to be related each other in order to accomplish this project. The first one is theory part, which includes the aim/use and possible forms of this online art platform. According to this part, the final ideas can be determined. The second part is technology, which is consisted by possible language, possible tools, possible colors and the interface. And this part should be based on the first one. After decide the ideas and technology, the next stage is the implement which includes the data flow, time and budgets of this project

Brief introduction

The task of this assignment is producing a proposal for innovative and experimental online platform or effective web tool to foster and stimulate the presence, exhibition, communication and management of art on the Internet. The proposal is to provide art galleries with web solutions responding to the concept of Web 2.0, and to provide opportunities to enhance their online presence and networking potential.

Elements requirement

Mind maps - brainstorm the possibilities, identify related works/interfaces/approaches
Example:

Case Studies - provide examples from the authoring tools you have used during the module, features that are useful or misleading, features that are effective, identify alternatives

Flow Diagrams - use a flow diagram to explore interaction between elements, navigation of content, use of features, interaction and feedback
Example:

Research – investigate and critique related examples (encountered in the lecture program for instance)

Design / Mood board – how would the interface look and feel, how does interaction work, what methods do you use, we looked at a range of examples with specific audiences/applications in mind! Consider; how does the user participate and navigate, what feedback/help/guidance methods would work best for your target audience

Storyboard – outline the stages of project, what does the user see/hear/do

Evaluation – provide an objective write up of your design process, how your approach is effective, potential improvements/alternative solutions. Also consider the level to which you investigated each stage of the process – could you give your paper based design to a developer to implement it – what information is missing, how could you provide that information?

I have read the handout and the artical, some parts game me inspire, especially the "Ultimate Display" approach. But it just a primary idea, i think i need to do some literature search in order to write it down.
